Fave Protein Bars

If you are anything like me, you're a sucker for a good protein bar.  It's like a Snickers for an adult, if you find a good tasting one.  I am always on the lookout for a yummy, low carb, low sugar, high fiber, and high protein bar.  Being totally honest here, I can't keep a box of these in my house.  I really would eat them all the time, and after every meal when I had a sugar craving.  So, I only go and purchase one at a time, or if I really have a sweet craving I need to get rid of.  Here are some of the ones that I like the best.

#1- Quest Bars.  These are my fave!  Most are below 200 calories and 10 grams of fat.  They are all lower carb because of their high fiber content (for example my favorite one only has 4 net carbs). Most of their options have 20 plus grams of protein.  They are also the lowest amount of points on Weight Watchers.  I am not on Weight Watchers, but I do think its worth noting.  My favorite flavor is Chocolate Chip  Cookie Dough.
The rest of my faves are all delish and not ranked in any particular order!

No Cow Bar - This bar has no dairy, no gluten, no soy, no GMO, but it's packed with lots of protein and fiber.  They have 20 plus grams of protein, and only 1 gram of sugar.  They also are pretty low in fat with most bars just around 6 grams.  My favorite flavor is the peanut butter chocolate chip!

One Bars - Packed with 20 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar, this is one of my top bars. One Bars usually have around 7 grams of fat too.  My fave flavor is the Birthday Cake flavor. Watch out, these can be a tad messy.

KIND Bars - So many good flavors and options.  Be sure to look for the ones that say low glycemic index on the wrappers. Low glycemic foods (i.e. oatmeal, beans and vegetables) are full of protein, fiber and fat and keep you full for a longer period of time, due to the digestion duration.

Pure Protein Bars - I feel like these are some of the easiest to find at gas stations, and places like CVS or Walgreens.  I really like most of the flavors.  They are also a 20 grams of protein, 3 gram of sugar option.  I really like their chocolate ones, and birthday cake flavors as well.
A good place to pick up some of these goodies is Smoothie King.  They have great protein bar options and have most of these on my list.  Check out my Smoothie King Blog Post for some healthy smoothie options there as well.

And just a quick "beware" note about Larabars.  I like them and they have all natural, good ingredients.  But, they are pretty high in sugar content.  They have around 17-20 grams of sugar per bar.  So, I am not saying they are bad and don't eat them.  I am just saying if you are watching carbs and sugar, they aren't the best option out there 😉.

XOXO,
Crystal
